Accommodations and Rates
The
Chalfonte is a historic hotel dating from 1876, characterized by its tradition
of warm Southern hospitality, nationally acclaimed fare and commitment to
maintaining a truly relaxing vacation getaway. With the absence of televisions
and phones in rooms, guests continuously return to the Chalfonte for its
simplistic atmosphere.
In 2009, much of the hotel underwent renovations including the addition of more than 30 private bathrooms and central air conditioning in many guest rooms. Wireless internet service is also available. Each uniquely styled guest room is equipped with a vanity sink, ceiling fan and outer louvered doors to welcome the fresh ocean breeze.
Though the Chalfonte Hotel does not have an elevator, guest rooms are available on the ground level and we are happy to cater to guests with special needs.

Deposits
When making a reservation we require a 50% deposit on the full amount of the reservation, which will be charged to your credit card.
Cancellation Policy
Should you need to cancel your reservation, please let us know as soon as possible. Two weeks notice is required in the event of cancellation in order for a deposit to be refunded, minus a $25.00 bookkeeping charge per room.
Deposits on reservations that are canceled within two weeks of the arrival date will be refunded only if the hotel is completely booked for the entire length of your stay, less the $25.00 bookkeeping charge. Guests renting the Franklin Street Cottage are not entitled to a refund. Guests arriving later than the confirmed arrival date and departing earlier than the confirmed departure date are responsible for the cost of the number of nights originally confirmed.
A note on parking: The Chalfonte does not have a parking lot. Parking is street parking only around the hotel, so start looking for parking upon crossing Franklin Street, which is the bordering street of the back end of the Chalfonte's property. Please do not park in the yellow. You may pull around the front of the hotel and park in the 15-minute unloading space, and then proceed to a parking space.
