Louis Riccio - Opening Reception Sunday, June 19 from 2-3:30pm
Longtime Chalfonte friend and Cape May summer resident, artist Louis Riccio, will display his work here at the Chalfonte Hotel in the Magnolia Room ballroom. Lou's work will be of a variety of mediums and his technique varies in mood, typically matching the character of the subject. Free & open to the public. The self-guided exhibit will be on from mid-May through the entire month of June viewing from 11am-4pm daily. For sales information please contact the hotel front desk.

Penelope Chiusano Watercolors – Opening Reception Sunday, July 3 from 2-3:30pm
New York watercolorist Penny Chiusano will display her whimsical work here at the Chalfonte Hotel in the Magnolia Room ballroom. Free & open to the public. The self-guided exhibit will be on display for the entire month of July viewing from 11am-4pm daily. For sales information please contact the hotel front desk.

Marie Natale Watercolors–Opening Reception Sunday, August 7 from 2:00-3:30pm
Marie Natale uses her exciting palette of color to give new life to Victorian homes, rustic boating shacks, seashore scenes, and local venues quickly vanishing, lost to new construction or decay and neglect. Marie is an award winning and highly recognized artist who says her goal in life is to use her talents to make the world a brighter place while she continues to share with others the joy that art has brought into her life. Her watercolors are featured in Chalfonte advertisements.The self-guided exhibit is free & open to the public and on display for the month of August from 11am-4pm daily.

Plein Air Painting with Marge Chavooshian A.W.S., N.W.S.

Fall Session: September 30-October 2, 2011
Welcoming students with every level of experience- Marge brings expertise and a great enthusiasm to teaching. She has received over 155 regional and national awards and was featured in American Artist Magazine. Her paintings are included in "Best of Watercolor," "Places in Watercolor", "The Best of Sketching and Drawing", and "Landscapes," by Rockport Publishers. Marge is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and The National Watercolor Society among others. Her work is represented in corporate and private collections here and abroad.
Each day of the workshop begins with a demonstration, teaching color mixing, values studies, composition and a simplified approach to perspective. Capturing the drama of sunlight and shadows will be emphasized. In inclement weather, work will be relocated indoors.
Reception and orientation for the July workshop will be on Monday, July 11, @ 5pm and for the September workshop it will be on Friday, September 30, @ 5pm. A critique will follow each class. Tuition for the weekend workshop is $90.00 (additional $20 for commuters).
Enrollment is limited, so please register early. Tuition paid in full will reserve space in the class. Cancellations made two weeks prior to the class will receive a full refund, minus a $25 service fee. Any cancellations made with less than two weeks notice will receive a refund only if another student fills the class space.

Double breasted
Harp, cello, drums, and vocals join to create a musical phenomenon. Performing all original music, double-breasted fuses rock, pop, and classical genres into one sonic experience. The self-proclaimed couture rock group consists of Kristy Chmura (harp, vocals), Ardith Collins (cello, vocals), and Josh Bicknell (percussion/vocals). All three compose and sing, bringing a variety that is rarely found in current pop groups. Tickets are free for guests dining in the Magnolia Room dining room. Carmen Artis and John Hammel along with accompanist, Nancy Purkiss, will perform "Let's go to the Movies Part Two." Music from the golden age of cinema to recent Disney hits, i.e., The Little Mermaid, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas and Toy Story. We will of course perform some of the classics from movie history i.e., Carousel; The King and I; Gershwin movies musicals, Cole Porter musicals and even that wonderful duet from Dreamgirls, "When I First Saw You." July 26 Concert by Candlelight - Henry Sawyer Room 8:30pmBorderland Family Ceili Band
Back by audience demand, The Borderland Family Ceili Band performs a lively variety of songs and tunes from the Celtic tradition--including Irish, Scottish, English and American folk melodies---updated with their own fresh arrangements. Humorous ballads, love songs, songs of immigration, jigs, reels, slow airs and some clogging thrown into the mix are representative of the annual concert fare, infused with the youthful energy of the band's younger generation and grounded in the stories and histories related by their musical parents. Group's instruments include vocals, fiddle, guitar, harp, piano, flute, whistle, recorder, mandolin, tenor banjo. Tickets are free for guests dining in the Magnolia Room. CBC Trio
The CBC Trio features popular, jazz, folk, and gospel music. The trio includes; Claire Marie Moblard, a music director and orgazinst plays harpsichord, concert harp, flute, piccolo, vibraphone, and the carillon; Byron Stay, a college professor by day, has played the trumpet since he was eight; and Carl Glover, also a college professor, is a brilliant singer with a taught voice. Violinist Timothy Schwarz
Violinist Timothy Schwarz is known throughout the world for his innovative and educational programming. As a collaborative artist, he has performed recitals and chamber music throughout North & South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. His recording career spans 15 years including solos and chamber music albums. This year's program will include the Brahms Violin Concerto and world premiers by Steven Sametz and Paul Salerni. This New York City based oboe trio, (and sometimes an English horn) is comprised of Kathy Halvorson, Katie Scheele and Mark Snyder who have performed at some of New York's most prestigious chamber music venues; Trinity Church at Wall Street's "Concerts at One" series; "Music for Summer Evenings" at the Grace Chapel in Silver Bay (Lake George); and the Good Shepherd Church in Brooklyn. August 30 Concert by Candlelight - Henry Sawyer Room 8:30pmFestive Brass
Festive Brass is a quintet of highly accomplished musicians from the Philadelphia area; Barbara Prugh and John Thyhsen, trumpets; Joan Dowlin, horn; Stephen Shiffer, trombone; and Peter Krill, tuba. Their versatile repertoire spans five centuries and includes music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods to ragtime, Dixieland and show tunes of the 20th Century. Adjectives used to describe some typical Festive Brass concerts include: "wonderful", "toe-tapping", "vivacious" and "a musical dynamo". Festive Brass has released four recording and individually, the members of Festive Brass have performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, the Opera Company of Philadelphia, the Philly Pops, and many more.
