Penelope Chiusano Watercolors– Opening Sunday, July 4, 2010
New York watercolorist Penny Chiusano will display her whimsical work in the Chalfonte's Magnolia Room ballroom. Free & open to the public. The self-guided exhibit will be on display for the entire month of July, viewing from 11am-4pm daily.
Marie Natale Watercolors– Opening Sunday, August 1, 2010
Opening Reception 2:00-3:30pm
Marie Natale returns this season with an exciting palette of color capturing local Victorian homes, rustic boating shacks, seashore scenes, and iconic venues. You may recognize her work from The Chalfonte Hotel advertising! Free & open to the public.The self-guided exhibit will be on display for the entire month of August through mid-October, viewing from 11am-4pm daily.
A Signature Artist of the Noyes Museum, Marie recently captured Best in Show in their Pleine Air competition. Her work has been accepted in the 2009/10 National Watercolor Society Show in California; the show travels for the year throughout the country. Marie currently teaches watercolor privately at her home studio as well as at the Ocean City Art Center in Ocean City, NJ, Gloucester County College, and at community centers and art guilds throughout the East Coast.

Watercolor Workshop
Plein Air Painting with Marge Chavooshian A.W.S., N.W.S.
Session: September 10-12, 2010
Welcoming students with every level of experience- Marge brings expertise and a great enthusiasm to teaching. She has received over 155 regional and national awards and was featured in American Artist Magazine. Her paintings are included in "Best of Watercolor," "Places in Watercolor", "The Best of Sketching and Drawing", and "Landscapes," by Rockport Publishers. Marge is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and The National Watercolor Society among others. Her work is represented in corporate and private collections here and abroad.
Each day of the workshop begins with a demonstration, teaching color mixing, values studies, composition and a simplified approach to perspective. Capturing the drama of sunlight and shadows will be emphasized. In inclement weather, work will be relocated indoors.
September Session: Reception and Orientation 5pm on Friday, September 10. Class held Saturday and Sunday 9:30am-4:30pm with a lunch break. A critique will follow each class. Tuition for the weekend workshop is $90.00 (additional $20 for commuters).
Enrollment is limited, so please register early. Tuition paid in full will reserve space in the class. Cancellations made two weeks prior to the class will receive a full refund, minus a $25 service fee. Any cancellations made with less than two weeks notice will receive a refund only if another student fills the class space.

Celtic Women & Friends
Celtic Women & Friends concerts include traditional Irish step and Scottish dances and play the Bombarde (a Breton folk oboe) to accompany a traditional Breton dance. The CBC Trio The CBC Trio features popular, jazz, folk, and gospel music. The trio includes; Claire Marie Moblard, a music director and orgazinst plays harpsichord, concert harp, flute, piccolo, vibraphone, and the carillon; Byron Stay, a college professor by day, has played the trumpet since he was eight; and Carl Glover, also a college professor, is a brilliant singer with a taught voice. Their playlist includes music by Leroy Anderson, Duke Ellington, and W. C. Handy.

Festive Brass
A renowned brass quartet from Philadelphia, Festive Brass enthralls audiences with tunes from marches to popular selections. Their versatile repertoire spans five centuries and includes music from Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods to ragtime, Dixieland and show tunes of the 20th century. Borderland Family Ceili Band
Back by audience demand, Borderland incorporates two generations of friends and three families. Their instrumentation includes fiddle, tenor banjo, flute, tin whistle, vocals, mandolin, piano accordion and Irish step dancing. They perform original and traditional songs of Ireland and Scotland. Violinist Timothy Schwarz
Native Philadelphian Schwarz picked up his first violin at the age of four, and since then has connected with audiences all over the world. This year Mark Snyder will accompany him on oboe. Back by popular demand Carmen Artis and John Hammel along with accompanist, Nancy Purkiss, will perform "Home Fires Burning - Songs of Love and Family“ featuring music from the turn of the 20th Century, the Great American Songbook and Broadway; including "I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen," "Suppertime" (Irving Berlin), "Wheels of a Dream" (Ragtime), "Mama Look Sharp" (1776) and "If You Believe" (The Wiz). Double Breasted
Harp, cello, drums, and vocals join to create a musical phenomenon-Performing all original music, double-breasted fuses rock, pop, and classical genres into one sonic experience.
