Linda McCrary-Watercolor Exhibit

Photography Club of Cape May Exhibit in the King Edward Bar
During this time there will be three different themed exhibits displayed. The first theme, displaying from May through June, will be "In the Garden", the second, displayed from July through August, will be "Cape May Up Close" and the third, displayed from September through mid October, will be "The View". The Chalfonte Hotel will host an opening reception for each themed display. These receptions will be held on Sunday, May 26, June 30, & September 1, from 2:00-3:30pm. This work will be open to the public during the King Edward Bar hours 3-11pm.

"Balance, Beauty and Butterflies" featuring Lou Riccio & Catherine Bosna Art Exhibit
with Exhibit Reception Sunday, June 9 from 2-3:30pm Cape May's natural beauty and Victorian architecture continues to inspire two local Artists: Louis M. Riccio, Industrial Designer/Watercolorist & Catherine Bosna, Acrylic Painter/Assemblage Artist. Catherine and Louis will be displaying works that reveal their visions and love of Cape May's rich historic past as well their appreciation for the wealth of beauty surrounding them in Cape May County. Watercolor Workshop with Marie Natale
Two-day watercolor workshop with Marie Natale. Be amazed at the fresh, clean and luminous results when using proper brush techniques and a direct painting method. Marie is known for her friendly teaching style, making classes both fun and informative. Come join us for a great painting experience. Contact Marie at 609-214-9905 for workshop reservations. Class will be held during the two day workshops from 9:30am-3:30pm. Reception and orientation for the workshop will be on Wednesday, June 5, @ 5pm. Tuition for the two-day workshops is $200.00 ($15 additional for commuters). Reservations for guest rooms should be made by calling the Chalfonte @ 609-884-8409.

Penelope Chiusano Watercolor Exhibit
with Exhibit Reception Sunday, June 30 from 2-3:30pm New York watercolorist Penny Chiusano will display her whimsical work here at the Chalfonte Hotel in the Magnolia Room ballroom. Chalfonte Summer Concerts – Free Outdoor Concert Front Porch 8:00pm CBC Trio
The CBC Trio consists of Claire Marie Moblard on piano, Byron Stay on trumpet and Carl Glover, vocals. The trio plays popular, jazz, folk and gospel music. Their playlist will include music by Leroy Anderson, Duke Ellington, and W. C. Handy.

Chalfonte Summer Concerts - Free Outdoor Concert Front Porch 8:00pm Artis/Hammel Carmen Artis, John Hammel, and Nancy Purkiss are Trio Bella Cantare.
Join them on the porch of the Chalfonte for One Enchanted Evening with the music of Rodgers & Hammerstein! With selections from the ground breaking productions of Oklahoma & Carousel to the South Pacific and historic Siam in The King and I through to the streets of San Francisco via Flower Drum Song and finally to perch on the lush melodies and tempos of Allegro and Cinderella, Carmen, John and Nancy will evoke memories of long established musical favorites in the Rodgers & Hammerstein Broadway tradition.

Chalfonte Summer Concerts – Free Outdoor Concert Front Porch 8:00pm Borderland Family Ceili Band
The Borderland Family Ceili Band performs a lively variety of songs and tunes from the Celtic tradition-including Irish, Scottish, English and American folk melodies-updated with their own fresh arrangements. Humorous ballads, love songs, songs of immigration, jigs, reels, slow airs and some clogging thrown into the mix are representative of the annual concert fare, infused with some youthful energy of the band's younger generation and grounded in the stories and histories related by their musical parents.Friday, July 26 through Sunday, July 28
Cape May Comedy Festival
The Chalfonte Hotel will be one of the venues for the Cape May Comedy Festival on Friday, July 26, in the Henry Sawyer Room. The shows will be 6:30-8pm and 9-10:30pm.

Chalfonte Summer Concerts – Free Outdoor Concert Front Porch 8:00pm Festive Brass
Festive Brass is a quintet of highly accomplished musicians from the Philadelphia area; Barbara Prugh and John Thyhsen, trumpets; Joan Dowlin, horn; Stephen Shiffer, trombone & Peter Krill, tuba. Their versatile repertoire spans five centuries & includes music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods to ragtime, Dixieland & show tunes of the 20th Century. Festive Brass has released four recording and individually, the members of Festive Brass have performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, the Opera Company of Philadelphia, the Philly Pops, & many more.

Marie Natale Watercolor Exhibit
with Exhibit Reception Sunday, August 4 from 2:00-3:30pm Marie Natale is returning to exhibit at the Chalfonte again in 2013. Her artwork of the Chalfonte is seen adorning our advertising. Chalfonte Summer Concerts - Henry Sawyer Room 8:00pm double breasted
Harp, cello, drums, and vocals join to create a musical phenomenon. Performing all original music, double- breasted fuses rock, pop, and classical genres into one sonic experience. The self-proclaimed couture rock group consists of Kristy Chmura (harp, vocals), Ardith Collins (cello, vocals), and Josh Bicknell (percussion/vocals). All three compose and sing, bringing a variety that is rarely found in current pop groups. Tickets are free for guests dining in the Magnolia Room dining room.
