More perfect than I could have imagined for our beach wedding reception. The front porch hour was incredible atmosphere for people to mingle, eat, and drink. We had a live jazz band play for the duration which worked out well and was accommodated by the staff effortlessly. Our reception was fantastic and service was efficient and friendly. The southern inspired menu was delicious and cooked to perfection. My husband is a chef in town and had nothing but great things to say as well as all of his coworkers and guests. The Chalfonte makes the perfect backdrop for photos. it rained all morning and afternoon before our wedding but there are so many places to take pictures at the hotel it didn't matter. The hotel is a very romantic style. It was everything we wanted and more.

We got married on the beach in Cape May & had our reception at the Chalfonte Hotel. It was absolutely perfect- I would not have changed a thing. The wedding coordinator, Terry Carr, was very helpful during the entire planning process. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and friendly during our entire stay. The reception went on without a hitch. Our guests thought the hotel was beautiful and the food was fantastic. The filet, crab cakes, and the dinner rolls were a huge hit. If your looking to get married in Cape May, I highly recommend the Chalfonte Hotel. It is a charming hotel that will have your guests raving even after the wedding!

I can't say enough about the Chalfonte. After our original venue was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy, we were certain we would have to postpone for a year due to the limited NJ shore venues left available. We met with Terry in January and found her to be very accommodating and the venue, despite being shut down for winter, absolutely extraordinary. We had lunch at The Blue Pig and decided to book within the hour; a decision which is bound to go down as one of the best we might ever make.

If you're looking for something that's not a wedding mill, this is about as far as you can possibly get. The 1876 Victorian retains so much old charm and character, from the wrap around porch which the cocktail hour is served on, to the gingerbread details and paint yet is has modern amenities like central air and recently renovated bathrooms. It's located just remotely enough in Cape May to make it a destination wedding for most, but not so far as to be too inconvenient for fellow jerseyites. We were lucky enough to have friends and family we hadn't seen in years decides to come from all over the country and make a little vacation out of it. The experience of seeing people you love every time you stepped up to the porch all weekend was just amazing.

We had our wedding reception here on Friday evening, September 20th. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Terry was an amazing coordinator to work with, very attentive, helpful, great to detail, and always answered my many silly questions promptly. She had many great suggestions to help personalize our event, including a signature cocktail and old family wedding photos spread out among the different rooms. Luckily we had a gorgeous day for our ceremony on the beach, but the Chalfonte had a great back-up plan with several options, if needed. All of the staff working our event were extremely nice, generous, and helpful. The food was delicious…we went with the surf and turf, and all our guests were raving about how well the filet and crab cake were prepared. Thank you to Terry and the Chalfonte for an awesome day!

I could not have asked for a better wedding coordinator or team to work with than the staff from the Chalfonte. The wedding coordinator quickly answered all of my questions and found a way to fulfill all of my requests. She spent hours taking the time to meet and go over any details. Our guests have not stopped raving about the food and beautiful southern mansion atmosphere. The hotel is rich with history which is a great way to get your guests excited about your wedding. it was the perfect place for everyone to experience historic Cape May. Our wedding party loved the bridal suite and being able to stay at the hotel where the reception was held. There is not one thing that I wished have gone differently at the reception! If you are looking for a reception with beautiful southern style, excellent food, professional staff and flawless reception-this is the place for you!

P.S. the fried chicken is AMAZING and our guests have not stopped talking about it.

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding reception than what we had at the Chalfonte Hotel this past Saturday. The Chalfonte gave us the atmosphere location and charm that emulates Cape May. Our guests really enjoyed the cocktail hour on the porch...It was a beautiful setting but also set a casual tone that allowed guests many options for sitting and a chance to really mingle. We decorated the whole first floor with family photos and they really seemed to fit right in the the intimate setting of the hotel. So many people complimented us on the appetizers we did three butlered and one stationary. The seafood was tremendous... The shrimp were huge and people were literally chasing the mushrooms and scallops because loved them so much.

As for the reception, we loved the format of the long dinning hall. Again the feel was really intimate and inviting with the Victorian setting and candlelight. The dinner was the best I have ever had at any wedding. You are always nervous about sit downs that everyone gets their food in a timely fashion and it's all still warm. But this was the best service; I swear every table got their food within five minutes and all warm. I don't know how the chef did it, but every steak was perfectly cooked. In fact, one of our cousins (in a family with 20 first cousins and us the last to get married) said this was the best steak and potatoes he has had in years—not only at a wedding but even out to eat at a restaurant. The crab ale was also great for any crab lovers; this is crab overload, the best crab cake I have ever had.

Finally the whole experience went so smoothly. Terry did an amazing job coordinating the whole ordeal. She was always friendly responsive and accommodating....I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. Again so many of my friends said this was the best wedding they had been to, and I have to thank the Chalfonte and its staff for that.

If you want excellent food, service, atmosphere with charm at a beautiful Victorian Cape May landmark, the Chalfonte is the way to go. Also most reasonable prices for value in town.

Thank you again!

Love
